GPGCS is one of the leading chemistry departments in the country with highly experienced academic staff carrying out pioneering work. The most recent Pakistan Research Excellence Framework rated around half of our research to be of country-leading quality and confirmed that we have the highest volume, depth and breadth of country-leading research and the best research environment of any Pakistan chemistry department. Our research crosses traditional boundaries and engages with other disciplines, both within College and with external stakeholders across a range of sectors. The importance of the Department’s research in the real world is exemplified by our many industrial collaborations and successful start-ups. This collaborative network is reflected in our 8 main research themes which are described below.
